About the Practice

Kia ora, Awakened Being Clinic provides trauma-informed, neuroscience-grounded
[support and coaching] that focuses on the nervous system and the subconscious to
facilitate personal change. The approach emphasises safety, regulation, and
reconnection. I believe that “positive change starts with safety, connection, and
awareness.”

Dean blends clinical hypnotherapy with psycho-sensory and somatic methods, offering
gentle processes designed to meet clients where they are, without forcing disclosure
or re-traumatisation.

Location: Auckland City (in-person and online)

Clinic Hours:
• Mon 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm
• Tue 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm
• Wed 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
• Thu–Sun Closed (online sessions by arrangement)

Important Notes & Scope
  • The clinic works within integrative coaching and wellness frameworks and does not diagnose or provide regulated medical/psychotherapy services in NZ. Services are designed to complement existing care. Referrals are suggested where needs fall outside scope.

Core Services
  • Clinical Hypnotherapy: Support for stress, phobias, low mood; sleep and habit patterns; performance; navigating the impacts of past events; and exploring internal conflicts.

  • Trauma Resolution & Psycho-Sensory Coaching: Somatic coaching, psychosensory tools (e.g., tapping, bilateral stimulation), nervous system regulation practices, and emotional integration and self-leadership.

  • Nervous System Regulation: Education and skills for managing stress and fear responses and restoring resilience.

  • Meridian-based Bodywork (optional): Wellness support drawing on East Asian energetic principles.

Client Focus & Common Presentations
  • Open to all genders (with men’s coaching options available online). I support clients experiencing:

  • Feelings of anxiety, overwhelm, worry, or low mood.

  • The lasting impacts of difficult childhood or relational experiences.

  • Phobias, grief, and loss.

  • Performance blocks (study, sport, creative), limiting beliefs, and exhaustion.

  • Challenges with relationships, boundaries, and intimacy.

  • Stress-linked issues: fatigue, sleep, digestion, discomfort, and physical tension.

  • Shifts in identity and motivation; perfectionism, procrastination.

  • Exploring patterns in behaviours around substance use, technology, or food.

How Sessions Work
  • Format: In-person (Auckland Central) or online (NZ-wide/international).

  • Duration: Typically 60–90 minutes.

  • Typical Arc: Short-term 1–10 sessions, with longer-term integration available where needed.

  • Consent & Safety: Clear boundaries and pacing; options for “content-free” work (e.g., metaphors of movement, non-disclosure) for clients who prefer not to retell traumatic material.

Approach & Methods

Dean’s integrated method includes:

  • Clinical hypnotherapy (Ericksonian/solution-focused);

  • Psycho-sensory tools and somatic practices informed by nervous system theory;

  • Mindfulness, parts work, and shadow work;

  • Coaching frameworks informed by modern behavioural psychology for behaviour change and self-leadership.

Philosophy: The ABC pillars, Awareness, Balance, Consciousness, guide recovery, regulation, and renewal.
